Surprised
by Grace: God's Relentless Pursuit
of Rebels - Tullian Tchividjian
As
today's Christians struggle to grasp
the gospel's true power, Surprised
by Grace unfolds a liberating story
that helps us come to grips with the
shocking extent of God's compassion.
This
astounding truth is something God
pressed into the epic life-story of
a man who defiantly resisted it. His
true story is retold in Surprised
by Grace, a gripping presentation
that will open your eyes wider than
ever to God's relentless, promiscuous,
and inexhaustible grace.
The
man's name is well known-it's Jonah,
the Old Testament prophet. This
fresh portrayal seeks to recapture
the staggering effect the story
had on those who first encountered
it so many centuries ago-the same
shock effect that's desperately
needed today among those who think
they know God's heart far better
than they really do.

Light
from darkness
As
I sit and behold
the
handy work of god,
from
my apartment view…
tree
tops, clouds, and dark sky…
behold!
Dark sky? True!
Trees,
reflecting sunlight!
I
thought of one, I laud,
Brings
light out of darkness
In
paintings, I am told.
Could
it be, to hold
That
god touched his heart
Inspiring
him to do
This
wondrous thing
I
see with my eyes?
Darkness
and with light,
That
light shinning though
In
paintings, some part,
Light
gleams out so bold.
Inspired
so, to bring
This
light to the eye!
May
it never cease
To
guide the artist
To
bring rays of hope
Through
beauty of art
Through
beauty of art
To
paint and release,
As
he works, and by
Art,
cause hearts reflect

PROVERBS
13:12
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing
fulfilled is a tree of life.
Concerning
the Inspiration for my Abstract Paintings.
Late
one night, while working, my spiritual experience
occurred. Rapidly, I became quiescence with a tremendous
feeling of humbleness and spiritual purity. Involuntarily,
my tears flowed forth and my assignment was revealed.
The instruction was- to use my paintings as a Tool
to Guide. As the presence softened I pertinently
asked, "how shall I accomplish my task"?
It became apparent that the question was left for
me to answer. The enormous responsibility of the
mission was overwhelming. I did not know where to
begin.
Since
that night, fifteen years ago, I have developed
compelling abstract paintings that symbolize sacred
and spiritual awareness. Often, my themes include
creation {earth and heaven}, atmosphere {ethereal
clouds, wind,} and angles {modern man's geometric
world.} Titles such as "Levels of Life,"
"Jonah and the Whale," "Technical
Deluge" and "Good, Evil and Modern Man"
emphasize the spiritual and physical interconnection
of our existence.
When
I paint in this style I try not to preconceive what
the final image will be. Painting, structure and
balance are my primary concerns. Many changes occur
and the painting develops progressively through
many layers of brushstrokes that create movement.
My paintings technique is powered by my subconscious
concerns that deliver unique and significant results.
To
achieve my task, as "A Tool to Guide"
has been very challenging, yet rewarding. In the
future as in the past, I will continue to paint.
For my paintings are not for my custody; they are
for humanity.
